AI Governance
The AI Governance module in TrustWorks is designed to help organizations comply with AI-related regulations, such as the proposed EU AI Act, and other frameworks like ISO 42001 or the NIST AI Framework. This module enables organizations to manage the safe and ethical use of AI, ensuring transparency, accountability, and robust data governance.
Key Features of the AI Governance Module
AI Use Cases Registry
The AI Governance module allows users to maintain a comprehensive registry of all AI use cases within the organization. This registry supports the identification, documentation, and assessment of AI systems, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.
Key Fields in AI Use Cases:
- Use Case Name: Clearly identifies each AI use case, including its origin (vendor, subprocessor, or initiative).
- Use Case Type: Categorizes the AI use case, such as Vendor, AI System, or ML Model.
- AI Act Risk Level: Indicates the assessed risk level (Unacceptable, High, Limited, Minimal) associated with each use case.
- Checklist: Links to the controls and checklists defined for the AI use case.
- Status: Tracks the progress of each use case (e.g., Draft, In Review, Approved, Rejected, Archived).
- Business Value: Assesses the impact of the AI use case on the organization, categorized as Low, Moderate, or High.
AI Adoption Scanner
The AI Adoption Scanner automates the detection of potential AI use cases across your organization, scanning data repositories, vendor relationships, and initiatives. This helps ensure that all AI use cases are identified and governed properly.
AI Adoption Scanner Features:
- Table of Findings: Displays all identified AI use cases with attributes such as the source, related entity, use case type, potential risk level, and detection date.
- Search Capabilities: Allows users to search findings by use case name or related entity.
- Risk Level Identification: Automatically assesses the potential risk level based on AI Act criteria, helping prioritize governance actions.
You can easily select and import the identified AI use cases to your registry and proceed to
mitigation measures.
How to Use the AI Governance Module
Managing AI Use Cases
- In the AI Use Cases tab, you can view a list of all AI use cases, along with their key details and statuses. Click on any use case to view more information, update its status, or add additional details.
Using the AI Adoption Scanner
- The AI Adoption Scanner helps you identify new AI use cases by scanning your organization's data repositories and initiatives. Review the findings and decide which use cases need further analysis or governance actions.
Risk Assessment and Management
- Use the module to assign and track risk levels for each AI use case. This ensures that high-risk AI implementations receive the necessary oversight and that all use cases comply with relevant legal requirements.
You can also manually add risks. Those will also be displayed in the risk management module.
AI Act Controls
You can also easily track the implementation of applicable AI Act Controls.
Upcoming improvements
In the upcoming releases we plant to improve the AI scanner possibilities to include data repositories descriptions and also enhance the scanner's algorithm. AI use cases and assessments will be seamlessly integrated into your existing compliance workflows, ensuring a unified approach to managing regulatory requirements.
Conclusion
The AI Governance module in TrustWorks is your comprehensive tool for managing AI use cases and ensuring compliance with emerging AI regulations. By automating detection, supporting collaboration, and integrating with your broader compliance landscape, this module helps you navigate the complexities of AI governance effectively.
